    HUH!

    INSTALLATION

    Huh! Is an involuntary sonic performance and refers to our ever-increasing disengagement from the physical world. It is a reference to the expression that we commonly use when our concentration fails us.

    The artist’s interest in interactive art lies in that moment in time when the interactive piece stops working. In this installation the device has two Infrared sensors attached to the search buttons of a radio. When people walk by they trigger the button causing the station to change. However the person on the opposite side makes the channel flip back to the previous station. This soon becomes a tug of war and a performance for the people watching the two people involved. The word huh refers to that moment when the device turns of in the middle of this channel tugging. Leaving the people maybe to say the word huh! As though they had been released from
